How to Embarass a Horse

Will has a very distinctive mane, very wild mountain pony-esque. And so we will have a “country turnout” no matter what–since he is hardly the Formal Morgan type. However, equine fashion dictates that his mane should fall on one side or the other and Will’s mane has a split. Halfway up his neck, his mane falls either to the right, or entirely forward, while the bottom half of mane lies quietly to the left. So this past weekend, Lisa and I worked on making it fall entirely on one side by banding it together after adding a little hair conditioner.
And here are the results:



Yes. I know. Very amusing. And it amused us as well–though Will was less than amused, mostly at having to stand so long for the banding.
And you know, it totally didn’t work. Next time, lots of gel.
